All- I'm looking for advice on what RAW book to read next. I've read the Cosmic Trigger trilogy, Prometheus Rising, and Quantum Psychology and I'm feeling like it's time for another one. So give me some idea on what to read next and why. Thanks!!!

Re: RAW books- what to read next?

I still love the Historical Trilogy for good clean fun, Dinger's Kitty for the heavy high weirdness, and the Illuminati Papers for its depth and variety. The New Inquisition comes to mind as well. -

Thu, November 13, 2008 - 5:24 PMShit. I forgot Masks of the Illuminati. I'd probably go that over the Historical Trilogy for good clean high weirdness,

Re: RAW books- what to read next?
Thu, November 13, 2008 - 6:18 PMIn keeping with your non-fiction momentum, I highly recommend any/all of the following:
Email to the Universe - one of his latest and greatest, I thought
Sex, Drugs, and Magick - RAW on three of my favorite topics, maybe yours too?
The Illuminati Papers - Great, entertaining chapters. Endeared to me for being the first of his books that I stumbled upon, (right in the knick of time!)
If you really like James Joyce and Finnegan's Wake, you need to read Coincidance, need to need to need to. -

Re: RAW books- what to read next?
Thu, November 13, 2008 - 9:35 PMIn my opinion, the best "first" fiction book would be the Illuminatus trilogy. It just seems like it would be a shame to read the other novels without having first read good ol' Illuminatus.
I re-read it (it had been 15 years since I first read it) and it made much more sense this time around, although nothing can compare to the wild ride of the first read. -

Re: RAW books- what to read next?
Sat, November 15, 2008 - 8:01 AMActually I have a copy of the Illuminatus Trilogy that I attempted to read many moons ago. It just didn't grab me. Maybe it was bad timing or just the girth of the book that put me off. I haven't done fiction in such a long time now. Could be time for a change.
Thanks for all the input! My amazon order has been placed. -

Re: RAW books- what to read next?
Mon, December 1, 2008 - 5:46 AMIf the Illuminatus! doesn't grab you right off, try skipping to the beginning of book 2 and start there, then go back. Of RAW's non fiction, the ones mentioned are the main gist of what he seemed to have to say. Schrod's Cat was mentioned too: really excellent. Stuff in that one keeps coming back to me years later. Domesticated Primates. Yep.
In a parallel way, I'd also recommend Undoing Yourself with Energized Meditation and other Devices by Christopher Hyatt, Crazy Wisdom by Wes Nisker, and A Beginner's Guide to Constucting the Universe by Michael Schneider.

I always thought that Right Where You are Sitting Right Now, and The Illuminati Papers were good. They are collections of essays.

I'd add that "Right Where You are Sitting Right Now" and "The Illuminati Papers" can be fully appreciated only after one has read "Illuminatus". One can't appreciate the inside jokes without having read "Illuminatus".

Re: RAW books- what to read next?
Fri, January 2, 2009 - 6:22 PMSome good posts.
Any similar authors/books to recommend? I think I've read everything by Bob that I could find, and quite a few in his nexus, as well as books he mentioned. Haven't read Science & Sanity yet, though. -

Fri, January 2, 2009 - 7:35 PMIf you haven't read Science and Sanity, then go order yourself a copy pronto! You'll be happy that you did.
I would highly recommend, though, reading a primer before tackling S&S. A good one is "Drive Yourself Sane" by Kodish.

could you be more specific? are you looking for conspiracy fiction like Pynchon and Reed, conspiracy theory like Chomsky, Fuller, and Oglesby? influences on RAW such as found on this page: www.rawilsonfans.com/article...ooks.htm ? something along the 8CB like Leary or Alli? or?

Re: RAW books- what to read next?
Sat, January 3, 2009 - 12:00 PMCheck out Timothy Leary's NEUROPOLITICS and THE INTELLIGENCE AGENTS, two under-rated, highly entertaining and insightful reads IMO -

Re: RAW books- what to read next?
Sat, January 3, 2009 - 10:11 PMMaybe "The Game of Life" by Timothy Learly would be also be a good one since RAW wrote a good portion of it.

Sun, February 8, 2009 - 10:59 AMIt's a must read :)
Took me about 3 years to finish the whole thing, but it's one of my very favorite books. Hagbard Celine!
