Re: the hell is this?!
Sun, February 25, 2007 - 9:44 AMBob actually did go through a phase where he studied Anton La Vey's Satanic Bible. Now whether or not he actually did anything about it or applied or became a Satanist, I cannot say. On a curious side note, actor Leonardo Di Caprio is preparing to star as Timothy Leary in a biopic he will co-produce.

Re: the hell is this?!
Sun, February 25, 2007 - 6:27 PMBob's daughter has confirmed that this is complete bullshit. To quote:
"The PRweb news release is COMPLETE bullshit and infuriates me as they put words (and dumb) in the mouth of a dying man, who, I can personally tell you, could not speak, much less type, 24 hours before he died." -

Re: the hell is this?!
Mon, February 26, 2007 - 10:21 AMMy level of respect for Ben Mack / Howard Cambell (author of poker without cards, interviewer of CS Hyatt - tribes.tribe.net/1ebafc2b-...d3fb8e53b) continues to decline. -

Re: the hell is this?!
Mon, February 26, 2007 - 1:10 PMI posted this before in the I'm confused thread...
i think i've spotted something here but it takes me till the end to
figure it out... it basically concludes / supposes that the Ben Mack
stuff on the movie 23 is high level big corporate marketing...
check it out and let me know what you think...
I think it time some of us (sneak in without paying?) go see 23
and report back from the trenches.
cheers revRob
look at this quote from the press release...
"The day before Robert Anton Wilson died, 1/10/07, he emailed Ben Mack, the Am. Mrkting Assn award winning author of Author of Think Two Products Ahead, an unusual manuscript with an email that read:
"My Dearest Ben, If something happens to me and I die suddenly, I want you to know of the extraordinary importance of the transcript I just finished reading. I wish this to be called The Number 23. Memetics, Shannon, Fuller and the Internet paint world politics in a way not previously visible, but once glimpsed, is indelibly seared -- combining natural philosophy with storytelling -- the effect is like taking acid, only you never come down. Please publish without delay. Sincerely, RAW"
--Robert Anton Wilson"
What horseshite... "if I die suddenly" - the day before he died... yeah right. There is no way he wrote something like that which makes no sense. Then..."...I just finished reading. I wish this to be called..." From the way this is written they are claiming he read it and gave it a name but therefore didn't WRITE IT. Then of course they call him a Satanist. The crack right have moved from the talking points lies of politics... to talking points lies in philosophy... just keep repeating it no matter how untrue and it will effect peoples believes. They are going after Bob and the freedom his world view represents. Calling him a satanist. What a joke if it wasn't so pathetic. Just lie lie lie. They've certainly learned the reality bending power of words.
OK all stop... I just googled this guy.... Another scenario....much more likely now... this Ben Mck guy knows to much, makes to many references, and to many patterns in his stuff.... His blog is all new with no comments.... his book has many reviews but use similar word patterns... like this one... "My dear Ben, you never cease to shock people..."
And his whole schtick even includes that he is in marketing teaching marketing.... so what is it most likely..... MARKETING....
this is one big stupid (or clever) bit of guerilla MARKETING, either tied in or playing off the publicity of the movie. The guy does claim some pretty big marketing connections, not the kind that push a stupid little book he has about making money with a number... more like the kind that set up a whole universe of bullsit to promote their stupid or clever movie.
Either way, they got me digging a bit...
This whole movie thing is really starting to reek.
The only hope is at the end of the movie they reveal it is all a
self perpetuating vortex. Then I'll happily nod to the memory of Andy Kaufman who
totally sucked me in with the whole wrestling chicks thing. Hey wait, Jim Carry played
Andy Kaufman.... now where getting somewhere....
starting to climb back out of the vortex...
cheers

Mon, February 26, 2007 - 5:51 PMI got a good larf out of this too. Great satire. Thats why I had to share it. I posted it here with out even reading the whole article. Sure as heck RAW would find this amusing. I can imagine it being commented on in in Cosmic Trigger Four: My Death (After Life.) -

Re: the hell is this?!
Mon, February 26, 2007 - 7:43 PMBen Mack is somewhat of a notorious joker like this. See the gpod interview: www.greylodge.org/gpc/
From what understand he works as a marketing consultant. -

Re: the hell is this?!
Tue, February 27, 2007 - 4:00 AMFunny this RAW as Satanist thang comes up right now. An old friend of RAW's has lent me his correspondence w/RAW, mostly from the period RAW was in Dublin. One of two epigraphs from a letter dated Feb 12, 1983 from RAW to "Laconicus" in this Tribe reads:
"Both Khoumeini and his supporters are determined to finish us off as soon as they get a chance. Khoumeini considers us enemies of Allah...We do not worship Satan. We just admire him for being the first to oppose arbitrary authority. If we disappear, mankind will be the poorer. It is necessary to have some people who doubt."
-Prince Puawwiah Esmaeel, Supreme Chief, Yezidi Order
I was just reading this last night. How many of us will sign the petition in support of the "first to oppose arbitrary authority."? Hey, I'm there...as soon as BushCorp is out of there, of course.
-rmjon23 da Berkeley
PS: The other epigraph to RAW's letter was from Bob Marley:
"The Pope is the Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, Godfather of the Mafia and general all-around Anti-Christ."

Re: the hell is this?!
Sat, June 16, 2007 - 10:59 AMFor the record, we were only recently made aware of this press release through some trackback links and would like state that the use of the sTaRe Network name was not used with our prior knowledge or consent. We have stated our displeasure in being unwittingly included to Mr. Mack directly. We don't want to speak for them, but we suspect ARGN and Immersive Gaming were unwittingly used in the same manner.

Sun, June 17, 2007 - 1:38 PMCan't help noticing... The guy mentioned in the article Harold Campbell. Another HC, like Hagbard Celine, Harry Coin, Howard Cork, etc.
