I just finished reading RAWs Cosmic Trigger Vol 1 and my mind is blown. If there is one thing that I can always count on from RAW is his uncanny ability to make me think and then laugh at the absurdity of it all. The truth is profoundly more insane than fiction.
As someone once greater than myself said whosename I can't remember (unfortunately)...........
There is no reality only perception.

Re: Pulling the Cosmic Trigger
Mon, August 6, 2007 - 12:36 AMthat was the first dose of RAW for me....
i read it and didn't get it the first time....
"okay," i thought "so this is a collection of curtiousities...23, sirius, interesting but not life changing"
then i read it again and actually felt the cognitive stretch that it engendered....
i suddenly realized...he is not asking my to believe the events that he is writing about
he is challenging me to perceive in a new way, beyond belief or disbelief -

Re: Pulling the Cosmic Trigger
Mon, August 13, 2007 - 9:13 PMI actually read Vol 2 and 3 before I started to read Vol 1, but I definitely relate. It felt my mind get blown away by it all, and realized more than ever before the utter relativity of reality. I felt empowered as the creator of my own reality.

Re: Pulling the Cosmic Trigger
Sat, August 18, 2007 - 9:49 AMReading Cosmic Trigger Vol I, left me with a feeling of intense curiosity and wonder, and at the same time demonstrated the importance of looking at things from multiple perspectives, rather than settling upon any single "map".
However, I found that The Illuminatus! Trilogy had the most potent effect on me. I had picked up and put down that book 3 or 4 times since I had bought it years ago, restarting each time. I just couldn't make it past the First Trip without having to close the book; it was weirder and more strangely constructed than any book I had read before. Then one day during the winter of 2005 I opened it again, determined to make my way through this mind-fucking tome. And I did...and things got a little weird. First off I kept noticing eye and triangle designs everywhere (mainly on band posters or at an art collective I usually pass by on the way home). Synchronicity? Neurological grid? Who knows? There was some mild paranoia as well, which is to be expected since reading this book had me thinking about such things.
It occurs to me that a similar effect can be experienced if one participates in over night lockdown laser tag. After spending hours upon hours in a dark multi-leveled arena, with beams of red light flying everywhere, I went home to crash. In the darkness of my room I saw a red light coming from one of my electrical devices and sat bolt upright. Why? Because to a certain extent I was still operating on the rules of the that particular game (red light = someone is attacking me).
How many other games are we playing?
Who is the master that makes the grass green? ^_^
